IAHA Student Chapters

Vanderbilt University IAHA Student Chapter
Started in 2007 by the Primeros Pasos founder, Vanderbilt’s student chapter continues to serve as an important US partner. Students fundraise, gather needed medical supplies, host awareness raising events, and research information for the clinic.
University of Virginia IAHA Student Chapter
University of Virginia’s student chapter was founded by former Primeros Pasos volunteers. Each year the group commits to collecting medical supplies and fundraising for Primeros Pasos through on-campus events and university connections. Primeros Pasos also serves as an elective site for fourth-year medical students at the University of Virginia.

Boston University MBAid (Bridging Management and Global Health)
Each year Primeros Pasos hosts an alternative Spring Break group of Public Health students from Boston University. The group’s mission is to draw on professionals skills to improve access to health care services to under-served children in rural Guatemala, while giving the students a chance to learn from and experience development first hand. The group also commits to fundraising for Primeros Pasos each year.
Manna Project International at Vanderbilt University
Each year Primeros Pasos hosts an alternative Spring Break group of students from Vanderbilt University’s Manna Project. Manna’s mission is to connect students with the developing world through a range of local and global initiatives.
GlobeMed at Georgetown University
GlobeMed is a network of university students that partner with grassroots organizations around the world to improve the health of people living in poverty. Through their involvement today, students commit to a life of leadership in global health and social justice.
